Martha Thompson loves the jigsaw puzzle that is defense litigation. A sixth generation lawyer, she continues the family tradition of doing the hard work, building strong relationships and creating exceptional value for clients. She builds each case and every client relationship with an honest, upfront approach.
Martha joined the firm in 1997 and was the first female to be named partner. She represents hospitals, nursing homes, medical labs, insurers and other companies faced with legal challenges. She has also tried to verdict numerous cases involving both employment and medical malpractice issues. With her, clients get what they need to hear to keep expectations realistic. Proactive and driven, Martha regularly provides her clients with educational resources on industry topics and trends and offers risk management counseling, deposition training and mock trials.
When she’s not working, Martha shares fashion advice in her lifestyle blog, stylebriefs.com. She enjoys watching college sports, participating in marathons and spending time with her husband, Brent, and their daughter, Lowery.
Martha earned her BS from Vanderbilt University and her JD from The University of Alabama School of Law.
