We are pleased to announce that Daniel Fortune, a former Deputy Chief Assistant U.S. Attorney in the Criminal Division for the Northern District of Alabama, has joined Huie to lead the Cybersecurity Liability and White-Collar Defense practice groups.
“Daniel brings specialized trial experience to Huie in areas with increased risk,” said John Herndon, Managing Partner. “With Daniel’s expertise, we can now support clients in matters involving cyber liability claims, white-collar defense and government investigations, among other areas.”
Throughout his career, Fortune has litigated more than 75 jury trials in state and federal courts involving complex matters and computer forensics. As a Deputy Chief, Fortune supervised teams that led investigations for major cybercrime, white-collar fraud, public corruption, asset forfeiture and national security matters; served as the Computer Hacking and Intellectual Property Coordinator and was recognized by the FBI Director for excellent work with the National Cyber Investigative Joint Task Force. Additionally, he supervised national and international investigations for matters involving internet crime, child exploitation and immigration.
Fortune earned his BA from the University of Nevada at Las Vegas in 1998 and his JD from William & Mary Law School in 2002, with the honor of being named to the Order of Barristers.
