Huie Announces Two New Partners in 2019

We are pleased to announce that Lauren Davis Tice and Brent Almond have been named partners in the firm. “Lauren and Brent joined Huie as summer associates while in law school and throughout their many years of dedicated service have made significant contributions to the firm,” said John Herndon, Office Managing Partner. “Being asked to join our distinguished partnership is a great reflection of their commitment to serving our clients and the hard work they put into every case.”

In her litigation practice, Lauren focuses on workers’ compensation, employment litigation, product liability and general insurance defense, representing a broad range of companies and professionals across Alabama and throughout the Southeast U.S.  In addition to her active litigation practice, Lauren is heavily involved in industry groups and in community service efforts. Lauren currently serves as a Director for the Alabama Workers’ Compensation Organization and is a member of the Junior Women’s Committee of 100 supporting Mountain Brook’s Emmet O’Neal Library. Additionally, she is a member of the Alabama State Bar, Alabama Defense Lawyers Association, Claims and Litigation Management Alliance and National Retail and Restaurant Defense Association. Lauren earned a Bachelor of Arts from The University of Alabama and is a graduate of The University of Alabama School of Law. She also completed the Mini MBA for In-House Counsel program at Boston University and is a graduate of the Birmingham Bar Association Future Leaders Forum.

Brent defends clients in the areas of medical malpractice, insurance coverage litigation and bad faith, heavy equipment litigation and workers’ compensation.  Among other clients, Brent represents hospitals, physicians, heavy equipment companies and suppliers, and insurance companies. Brent routinely contributes articles to trade publications and is currently a member of the Alabama State Bar, Alabama Defense Lawyers Association, Defense Research Institute and Claims and Litigation Management Alliance. Prior to joining Huie, Brent was an active member of the U.S. Marine Corps. He also earned a Bachelor of Arts from The University of Georgia and is a graduate of Cumberland School of Law at Samford University.
