Huie has built a long-standing reputation as fearless litigators who approach every case prepared to go to trial and equipped to win. So, recruiting the right team members is paramount to growing our firm and continuing to provide the service and results our clients expect. While our summer clerk program is our primary pipeline for new associates, we are always looking for exceptional legal talent and accept resumes from law students at all schools.
The recruiting process should be an exciting and positive time filled with mutual exploration. We bring the same servant leadership mentality to our candidates as our attorneys give to our clients. Our hiring process moves in several phases. Our process is streamlined but our interviews run deep, so come prepared to share. Ultimately, we want to ensure the best fit for all of our hires through a collaborative, interactive interview approach.
Beginning your career at Huie offers you a rare opportunity to make a positive impact, excel in challenging work, learn from an exceptional team, and grow along with us.
Gain experience across multiple practice areas. Channel your problem-solving spirit. Broaden your horizons with unique client cases and internal initiatives. You’ll do all this and more, while receiving training, mentoring, guidance, and support along the way.
Our vibrant summer associate program provides in-depth insight into our firm, attorneys and areas of practice. A typical day can include brief writing, legal research, witness interviewing or assisting with deposition and trial preparation. Summer associates also accompany attorneys to hearings, depositions, client meetings, witness interviews and trials to gain valuable litigation experience.
Summer associates are assigned mentors who provide feedback and guidance on projects. To foster relationship building among summer associates, mentors, and all Huie attorneys, the summer associate program includes numerous social, recreational and educational events.
Our summer associates are a diverse group of talented individuals seeking to gain invaluable, hands-on litigation experience. The number of available summer associate positions is determined by a realistic evaluation of our expected hiring needs. Interested law students should check with their Career Service Office for deadlines to submit materials and for interview dates.
You’ll find open roles on your law school job board or you can contact your school’s Career Development office. To apply, you’ll need a copy of your resume, a cover letter and an unofficial transcript.
The on-campus recruiting process varies at each law school. After on-campus interviews, you’ll typically hear back from our team within two weeks.
We embrace diversity. We welcome student applications from all universities and backgrounds.
We like to learn more about your law school experience, leadership roles, and class projects. It might be helpful for you to spend some time refreshing your memory on these experiences to help answer the interview questions.
