A State Court jury in Clarksdale, Mississippi returned a defense verdict in favor of Ford on March 30, 2012 following a 2 week trial. Huie, Fernambucq & Stewart, LLP lawyers Gordon Sproule and Patrick Strubel represented Ford. This was their second defense verdict for Ford in less than a month in Mississippi. The most recent case involved a single vehicle rollover accident of a 1995 Ford Explorer that resulted in the unfortunate deaths of 3 children. Plaintiffs alleged the Explorer’s design was defective because it was “too prone to rollover.” Ford’s counsel proved that the rollover occurred with the vehicle at least partially in the grass median, which caused the rollover. Ford’s counsel further established that the Explorer was reasonably safe and that the Explorer’s design did not cause or contribute to the unfortunate crash. Barry W. Ford of the Baker, Donelson, Bearman, Caldwell & Berkowitz firm in Jackson, Mississippi also represented Ford.
