We are pleased to announce that Jennifer Egbe, a partner at Huie, was selected as a member of the 2023 class of Fellows by the Alabama Law Foundation. Twenty-seven new members were inducted at the Annual Fellows Dinner, which was held Saturday, May 20, 2023, in Montgomery, Alabama.
The Fellows program was established in 1995 to honor Alabama Bar members for outstanding service and commitment. Since no more than 1% of bar members are invited into fellowship, the selection committee chooses new members from an exceptional group of lawyers. “The lawyers selected for this honor have demonstrated outstanding dedication to the profession and their community and go through a selection process based on recommendations from current Fellows,” said Leslie R. Barineau, President of the Alabama Law Foundation. Fellows provide leadership and support for the Alabama Foundation’s programs that promote access to justice.
Since joining Huie in 2007, Jennifer has represented auto manufacturers across the country, hospitals throughout the state and has defended disputes involving allegations of First Amendment violations, excessive force, discrimination, flooding and water channeling, asbestos, business dissolution and all varieties of wrongful death claims. Her litigation practice runs the spectrum from case initiation through trial, and she is most in her element when strategizing, problem-solving and persuading under pressure. Jennifer represents a wide array of entities, from global Fortune 500 corporations to municipalities to local start-up businesses and tackles each client’s cases with the same intensity, fortitude and efficacy.
In addition to managing her busy law practice, Jennifer is involved in a number of service initiatives with local schools, law schools across the state and in the community, and she always welcomes any opportunity to speak with and learn from young people. Jennifer is a current member of the Birmingham Airport Authority Board of Directors and the Alabama Board of Court Reporting, and she serves as President of The Dance Foundation Board of Directors.
