Joining volunteers around the world, employees from Huie took part in the 2nd Annual Global Day of Service, a worldwide initiative spearheaded by Ford Motor Company’s Legal Alliance for Women (LAW). Huie was among more than 70 law firms around the world partnering with LAW to volunteer time and perform pro bono work on a day of community service on September 26th.
Ford LAW Global Day of Service continued this year with a singular vision to help community organizations that are assisting women and girls through educational, empowerment and support programs.
For the second year, the team from Huie brought the Global Day of Service to Birmingham by volunteering at Pathways, an agency that serves approximately 1,600 women and children experiencing homelessness in the Birmingham area each year. Huie employees painted two offices and the Clothes Closet, reorganized several childcare rooms and provided lunch to guests at Pathways.
“We share in Ford’s vision of advocating for and serving our local communities,” said John Herndon, Managing Partner at Huie. “Pathways is a gem in our community, and we are thankful that they allowed us to serve them.”
“Through this day of service, we are aiming to marshal the collective efforts of our partners in the legal profession around world to give back to the community,” said Beth Rose, Chief Compliance, Ethics, and Integrity Officer at Ford Motor Company and chairperson of Ford’s Legal Alliance for Women.
