Huie Grows Partnership – Announces Three New Partners
We are pleased to announce that Stewart McCloud, Bart Cannon and Margaret “Megan” Jones have been named new partners at Huie. “Stewart, Bart and Megan joined the Firm as associates and throughout their years of service have made significant contributions to the Firm,” said John Herndon, Office Managing Partner. “Being asked to join our distinguished group of partners is a great reflection of their dedication to our clients and the hard work they put into every case.”
In his litigation practice, Stewart focuses on insurance coverage and defense litigation, professional liability, asbestos and toxic tort litigation and product liability. He represents a broad range of companies and professionals across Alabama and throughout the Southeast. For his efforts, Stewart’s received recognition from numerous industry groups, including being named as a Super Lawyers Rising Star in 2014, 2015 and 2016. He is currently a member of the Alabama State Bar, Birmingham Bar Association, Alabama Defense Lawyers Association, Defense Research Institute and Claims and Litigation Management Alliance. Recently, the National Multiple Sclerosis Society selected Stewart to become a member of the Birmingham MS Leadership Class of 2016. Stewart completed his undergraduate studies at Southern Methodist University and is a graduate of Cumberland School of Law at Samford University.
Bart focuses his litigation practice on transportation, construction, product liability, professional liability, insurance defense and appellate issues. Among other clients, Bart represents trucking companies, building materials suppliers, heavy equipment distributors, commercial and residential contractors and subcontractors, product manufacturers and component suppliers, law firms, retailers and insurance companies. Bart routinely contributes articles to trade publications and is currently a member of the Alabama State Bar, Mississippi State Bar, Alabama Defense Lawyers Association, Defense Research Institute and Claims and Litigation Management Alliance. He enjoys volunteering time as a youth counselor at Southeastern Youth Camp in Cook Springs, Ala. Bart earned a Bachelor of Arts from The University of Georgia and is a graduate of Mississippi College School of Law.
In her litigation practice, Megan is devoted to representing insurance companies, self-insured employers, automotive manufacturers, businesses and municipalities in all aspects of civil litigation, with a strong concentration in the areas of workers’ compensation, retaliatory discharge and discrimination claims. She regularly presents to clients on emerging issues in workers’ compensation and insurance law, along with case law updates for the various areas of her practice. Megan is currently a member of the Alabama State Bar, Birmingham Bar Association, Birmingham Volunteer Lawyers Program, Alabama Defense Lawyers Association, Defense Research Institute and Claims and Litigation Management Alliance. She is a mentor for law students in the Cumberland School of Law Trial Program and currently serves on the Mountain Brook YMCA Board of Directors. Megan earned a Bachelor of Arts from Florida State University and is a graduate of Cumberland School of Law at Samford University.
