Huie, Fernambucq & Stewart is pleased to announce that Partner James R. Shaw has been named a Fellow of the Alabama Law Foundation.
The Alabama Law Foundation established the Fellows program in 1995 to honor Alabama Bar members who have demonstrated outstanding dedication to their profession and to their community. Fellows are selected by a five member panel and Fellow membership is limited to one percent of the Alabama Bar.
Jim has practiced civil trial law in Alabama and other states for over 35 years. His practice focuses on heavy equipment litigation, trucking litigation, and lawyer professional liability litigation. In the product liability arena, Jim defends cases involving construction, logging, marine, mining, and recreational products such as firearms and hunting equipment.
In addition to his law practice, Jim serves on the Friends Board of NPR affiliate WBHM, the Board of Directors of the Greater Birmingham Humane Society, the District Executive Committee of the Greater Alabama Council of Boy Scouts of America, and is actively involved in Canterbury United Methodist Church.
